TF (MicroSD) cards have a form factor that makes them fit in most mobile phones and tablets. Micro secure digital (SD) cards are the miniature version of secure digital cards. Officially, it got the coveted membership of SD products. It was renamed as a micro SD card when SD Association acquired it from SanDisk by the year-end. Launched in 2004 by SanDisk, it was a collaborative effort of SanDisk and Toshiba.
